I think others covered the subject well. I will just add: Lots of things can get warped in order to be used as an op, while the original is not. Even communism itself. If those trying to liberate abandoned everything that has ever been distorted and used against them, they’d have virtually nothing left (in more than one meaning of the word).

If you let the oppressor speak for you, they’ll keep moving the goalposts until you have nothing left to fight with or for. Investigate where stuff originates from (an easy-to-trace modern example is the distortion of the term “woke”), how it has been used, where it comes from where it came from and by whom and for what purpose. Without that clarity, you might be basing your analysis on being pleasing to the oppressor.
