i think this is rather a permanent and created perception of beeing “at the edge” as it assumes not to be there yet while it allows feudalists to do all their crap, parts of it even publicly.
at least our parent generation had the same perception of beeing at that same edge while things have worsened a lot in the decades of the feudalists fouling further. that is IMHO ;-)
