Like from filling buckets in the laundry, or filling a glass over the second sink. Thanks. (Was confused as my sinks tend to stay dry until used, on which they get filled or deluged.)

No. Just leave it sitting on top of the drain and use the tap as normal. It will slowly dissolve itself.
