    The 6 MW chargers will be used to charge the huge 1.9 megawatt hour batteries that drive the power systems for the massive 240 tonne battery electric haul trucks. It says it will be able to do that in just half an hour.

    That’s going to murder the battery lifespan. Why not make swappable batteries, you get a 10min turn around while also greatly extending battery life. On a machine that size you have the room to make things more serviceable :/

      Depends on the mine. That’s equivalent to a CAT 793, which is their second biggest one. Larger operations can have a fleet of 50 or more trucks. Smaller ones are in the 10-20 range. It all depends on the grade of ore, and how much overburden they need to get out of the way to get to it.

    If i know anything from the videos of Adam something about the Tesla truck, that truck’s going tobe very inefficient compared to petrol, but cool shit
