Putting my feelings of Musk to the side and he most likely wanted no other solution than Tesla cars on the road.

But…I can’t find any support for the information in the title. Journalist Vance is quoted seemingly just airing his own conclusion on what Musk wanted or not.

Do we really need this grasping for straws posts about Musk when we already have tons of better and more substantial pieces?

The full quote goes on to say,

Musk said as much to me during a series of e-mails and phone calls leading up to the announcement. “Down the road, I might fund or advise on a Hyperloop project, but right now I can’t take my eye off the ball at either SpaceX or Tesla,” he wrote.

      The full quote also includes,

[Hyperloop] was more that he wanted to show people that more creative ideas were out there for things that might actually solve problems and push the state forward.

Which to me indicates that Vance saw Musk not actually planning to build Hyperloop as somehow being a good thing.

I heard (not verified) that Musk had really bad inconsistencies when he was explaining how the Hyperloop should work. If looks like he was making stuff up

I understand that, I did hope most people will also read the article here. But the idea suggested by Vance is clearly not too far off in my opinion. I am happy too discuss that stuff here because it would fit the theme. I am not a big fan of Musk myself so I am probably a bit biased too

Yeah, never attribute to malice what could be explained by ineptitude and disinterest. This is just a quote of somebody else’s opinion of musk.

No, no. This is the rule when dealing with people who haven’t given you reason to believe they’re acting in bad faith. Musk has been blatantly and openly acting in bad faith for years.
