Ah, I see you also have that’s Gboard

(I literally swiped “ghosts Gboard” twice to get the advice above. Oh look, it happened again)

Ya it’s in the name. Google is synonymous with tracking and lack of privacy. Just another bit we give up to live in the most advanced and free country in the civilized world, governed by it’s its citizens and not a conglomerate of corporate overlords selling our minds by inches.

        Yup.

My Gboard started doing that when I type normally!

I gave up using swipe typing because it loves to pick words I never say, have never said, and will never say (especially not in the context of the rest of the sentence, that Gboard knows about and will offer (incorrect) corrections on)

The autocorrect not being able to accommodate my use of bad words was my reason to turn it off. It’s so fucking annoying, a corporation will not tell me which words I can and cannot use.

programmerhumor lemmy continuing the fine r/programmerhumor tradition of memes that are only tangentially related to technology and have dick all to do with programming posted by non programmers who want to hang out with the hackermen

I say we let them hang with us. They’re a little confused, but they’re adorable enough.

Also, talesfromtechsupport effectively became talesfromtech because just tech support is to small of a niche to sustain a sub with content. Likewise, if we banned all the not-strictly-programming humour, I don’t know the community will thrive still. It might drive out both content and viewers, and while it’s arguably correct, I don’t think it’s wise.

I’d rather have it be something vaguely resembling the type of humour programmers tend to have than a little walled-off box with a big sign “NERDS ONLY”

The system in android has turned insidiously covert. I make more than my share of mistakes but Andy likes to toss in some randos
