Was given the day off today (didn’t want it, or tomorrow, but we’re quiet ATM) so I thought I’d make the best of it by using uneaten strawberries to make jam. It’s still cooling but it seems ok. Also waffles

“The real concern driving CEO resistance is the fact that remote work involves a previously unthinkable change in the way productive activity is structured and organised. If workers can do without the physical presence of managers, perhaps they don’t need managers at all, at least in the way they currently operate. The eagerness of CEOs and other senior managers to wish these changes away suggests that, at some level, they realise this.”

Idk about any of you. But $35 to get into the Royal Melb Show to pat and feed the sheep and goats was 100% worth the price of admission.

The piglets, deer, llamas, and rabbits were just so dang cute

Yeah, we got Tix for 35 bc we both have Health Care Cards. Otherwise it is exxy as. Still is.

Didn’t get any food there, but did buy some coffees, checked out all the animals (ag shed, petting/feeding the animals) and went into most buildings. Got a show bag for Mickey, because they had a cat one, and he loves his new wand toy. And I bought a little cat ring heheh. Hopped on two rides. No regrets, and today was a good day as it wasn’t too crowded at all.

They didn’t say what breed they were, but I reckon they’re mini lops. You can tell by their size (a bit bigger than a guinea pig), and their ears are ‘loppy’ hence the name. Dwarf lops are bigger versions (like what PeelerSheila posted). They’re super common pets because they’re very friendly and docile.

I couldn’t believe they had actual deer! I did end up getting a photo of one!

Already have one fence dispute (or more specifically Unreasonable flow of water between properties) for the shed up the back. Neighbour came over a few weeks ago and couldn’t see a problem. She got the council to come over and look at it FROM HER SIDE and didn’t give me the heads up so they could look at it from MY SIDE. Tried calling the council several times at least take a squizz but to no avail yet.

Definitely no problemo there. All they have to do is remove a little bit of soil from their side and let it dry out over summer and put in a little retaining wall / moisture barrier.

Now the other fairly long / high paling fence on the same boundary is collapsing (really fkn wobbly). re-doing the veggie patch so have a heap of old redgum sleepers. Propped it up heavily on my side so when / if it falls it’s not falling my way hah.

    Oh no. Oh no.

Chillies have germinated far too fast and I haven’t even calculated the amount of soil I’ll need to pot what I can. It’s also too cold outside for them in Northcote. This is a disaster.

Sometimes I think about running away to a foreign country and starting again with a completely clean slate.

Circumstances of late have forced me to think about old jobs and the horrible things I went through and it’s quite triggering.

Sounds like you’ve got a lot of the past to let go of. Speaking as someone who dragged the past around like an anchor for far too long. Even if you were to go overseas, you can’t escape from you. I hope you can one day find a way to let go of it.

Negative experiences (shit job, shit family, shit friends, trauma, abuse, etc) will cause triggers to manifest naturally, it’s the brain ‘misfiring’ doing risk assessments and memory recollection, similar to the way ptsd works. Something in the world reminds you of that time, and your brain treats it like a new threat rather than a memory, even though it is just a memory.

You can run away across the seas, but you will still have your brain reacting to triggers.

It may help to recentre yourself by reminding yourself of what you have achieved, your goals, that you are not ‘there’ anymore. That you have come so far despite your past experiences, and fuck those times where you were in a hard place. You persevered and you are succeeding.

Sorry for the rant and possible lack of help this supplies 😬

I think once certain things are resolved which at this stage looks like will take six months to resolve it will be better.

    IT’S HEEEEERRREEEEE

Despite having spent ~280 hours on the series, I’ve still only seen 2 of the episodes in the box set

    (Yes they’re VHS tapes)

I ditched DVDs, but I’m actively expanding my VHS collection. They’re basically vintage now. Cool retro tech I can’t ordinarily buy/use. We do have a player, but I’m not going to dare play these because I don’t want it eating my tape. I’ve tested other tapes, and it hasn’t, but I don’t trust it

Woke up early to pick up the new Zelda.

Bought some food and self maintenance stuff. Marvelled at the Cinderella experience set up.

Also had a haircut too. Feels nice to have it cut and all neat now.

Lunch has been had and now have my coffee.

I feel like I want to take out my bins but it feels too early
