Copyright is invented scarcity in a world increasingly running into the contradictions of Capitalism

“They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking.” - George Carlin
Also dovetails nicely into how public schools today are closer to private prisons than centers of learning. Also FUCK reactionaries for co-opting Carlin.

What’s the lending library?
The IA loaned digital copies of books they’d scanned. Only a certain amount of copies could be loaned at one time due to stupid copyright bullshit
During the pandemic they allowed unlimited copies to be loaned out at any time which made the copyright mafia big mad

They knowingly violated copyright. Sorry, can’t excuse them
You can if you aren’t a piece of shit who equates legality with morality.
If they want to change the regulations, then work on that
Notably, you have not produced any actionable suggestion for doing so.
Honestly, you should take a long walk off a short pier. And that pier should be over an active volcano.
so funny to do the exact thing the top level comment is rightly criticizing lol. get a life
If they want to change the regulations, then work on that. Blatantly violating them and challenging copyright holders doesn’t help anyone.
Have you studied history? Non-violently violating unjust laws is a means of working on that and striving to help others. Those responding as you have are no more helpful than you think those you criticize have been. If anything they’re less so as their support may have been of greater help in changing things instead of letting them worsen.
The entirety of MLK’s civil rights career was basically breaking segregation laws lol.
Copyright violations are such victimless crimes and yet people still get upset when some billion dollar company misses out on $20 worth of sales.
please god shut the fuck up, nobody cares about your malformed opinion
Eat a dick

that have said the IA was asking for trouble in removing restrictions from the lending library during the pandemic
That absolutely did put a huge target on their back though
Become a data hoarder until the internet becomes a dead mall god willing
What a fucking bummer. They can never stop the exchange of knowledge though. We are stronger than them. For every internet archive they shut down, we have a thousand more archives ready.
IP laws breed innovation once again. /s
Remember in the 90s when the internet was new and all we heard about was how it was going to innovate education and information gathering?
I did not have internet access at that point. I doubt that, where I live, there were many people who did at that time.
who needs the largest archive to have ever existed when you have shareholder profits and bazinga SaaS startups
RETVRN to 14 years + 14 renewal as the framers intended
