on my question about torrentleech they seem to open their doors quiet frequently so yeah I am planning to enter the next time they do my question is what are the rules actually

  • I found a post from 2 years ago and it says you have to either have a download ratio of 1:1 on the files you download or you seed them for 10 days so my question: is there a way actually to see those stats before deleting that file

  • for exemple if Ic seed like for 9 days will I still get a warning isn’t there a threshhold

  • If I seed for exemple everyday for 10 hours and then shutdown my pc like any normal person than do the same thing for the next 30 days with variation in those 10 hours theoratically speaking I seeded for more than 10 days or sould I constantly seed for 10 days like my pc shouldn’t shut down cause if that’s the case then hate to break it to you but in some reagions electricity isn’t stable

  • there is a question I always wanted to ask if you can’t reupload stuff in the private repo to anywhere and they somehow will find that out then how is the stuff in the public trackers there in the first place

  • as long as the rules are not 10 days in a row I have no problem doing them since well I already have searxng always running in the background lol

  • to be honest all my torrent usage is that once in a while anime or movie and I usually keep the file until the ration is like above 1 since I don’t mind

  • another question are there a lot or qualities and resolutions in torrentleech since if the file is like 20 gb I don’t think I will ever reach that 1 ratio I usually go for the 1080p even 720 when the file size is huge + yeah sorry I have 500 gb ssd lol

    1. Yes most trackers have something on their website to let you know what your ratio is, what you’re downloading and how long you’ve been seeding those files.
    2. With the trackers I’m familiar with yes – seeding for 9d 23h 59m and 59s is the same as seeding for 0s. You’ll still get tagged with a HnR (Hit and Run)
    3. You can shutdown as much as you like. But, again the trackers that I’m familiar with have a cap on the number of HnRs you can have on your account. So you might have action taken against you if you’re seeding 5 different torrents and decide to shutdown.
    4. Don’t know.
    5. The rest don’t appear to be questions so not sure how to respond.

The alternative way of building ratio is by permaseeding files and then using points to buy more ratio. There are tons of freeleech files on there that you can download and seed but you can’t do it by seeding 3 hours a day and then shutting your PC off. This will apply to just about every private tracker.

This is what I do on ipt, my ratio is insane because the 24/7 seeding + redeeming points. Def the way to go if you can swing it.

This is the correct way to build up your profile with them, I did something similar with ebooks on myanonymouse, at any given time they have like 100 free leech torrents available (things that you can download that don’t negatively affect your ratio but do still count as hit and runs if you don’t seed for the required amount of time). And they cycle out the free leech offering weekly. So I was quickly able to build up a base of about 300 tiny torrents that I set to permaseed in my qbit earning me about 100ish points an hour.

Then like dude above said you can use the points to buy a bunch of ratio in your favour, so you can download giant torrents, on myanonymouse you can also buy free leech tokens so you can spend them on any torrent and then that torrent doesnt ruin your ratio. Great for huge downloads. You can also buy seed time for torrents that are about to reach hit and run status.

Easiest way is to have a computer like a home server you leave on all the time so it can sit there with qbit open earning you points all day with very little impact to the network. Also considering that you earn points per download you leave seeding it doesn’t really make sense to delete the download unless you have no intention of consuming the content again.

And if you are worried about doubling up the download and a copy of it in your nicely organised plex folder, there are ways around that to stay space efficient.

These strats are a little out of reach though if your only computer is a laptop with a meh sized hard drive though, honestly it might make it almost impossible to remain a user in good standing with private trackers. Short of spending real money with them in a pay to play sort of deal.

Though if we are just talking tv and movies and anime, I personally dont see any reason to use anything other than 1337x and nyan

We must be searching for different kinds of content because pretty much everything I add to my watchlists get downloaded. Admittedly I am using prowlarr, sonarr, and radarr to do all my crawling for me so my first grabs might be coming from other trackers before being replaced by my favourite encoders on 1337x

From your questions I doubt torrentleech is right for you, they can be quite particular and if you get banned they’re not very forgiving.

    As for the answers:

    • It’s visible in the list of your currently seeding torrents visible from your profile.

    • yes

    • they really don’t care about your situation. But they don’t consider a torrent abandoned by you until it hasn’t been seeded by you for 24 hours, though they prefer if you can be online 24/7.

    • they mean the actual torrent file, if that is shared then the whole point of private trackers fail. Big part why all private trackers use codes linked to your profile such that they can easily track if you violate the rule. Also needed to actually ban someone from downloading torrents you already have. As for how stuff ends up there it’s generally someone sharing it directly from Usenet to the public trackers.

    • 10 days seed time with max 23 hours “break”. Last I checked.

    • there are activity rules for new accounts. So make sure you download something at least monthly.

    • a lot of options but mainly high quality stuff. Not everything is available in the below 2 GB for a movie range. And very little in the 700 mb for a movie range. Better use a public trackers for that.

Bonus. Keep in mind that even if you seed each torrent for 100+ days each you still need a positive ratio. And ratio is hard to build on Torrentleech since so many have blazing fast upload speeds. One “trick” I’ve done is download a popular release from a public tracker, delete the torrent, point the torrentleech torrent to the same directory and it will think you’ve already downloaded it giving you no download and going directly to seeding. Just be very sure to not “merge” the torrents because that will get you banned.

so will like me coming back to my computer after that 23 hour mark the torrent will not be seeding for exemple I download inception and for get about it existing after a month I got in a 2 day vacation the torrent will not be seeding after that vacation and yeah that’s a weired system

and if torretleech isn’t for me and I am surely not gonna get that seedbox you guys are talking about since it’s so expensive in my country and I don’t have a gb internet connection lol it’s 2 mbytes maximum lol then what are the other private torrents that I got a chance with

basically I want a private torrent that I can live in as a person with no seedbox

Dude, you’ll be fine on Torrentleech. If you don’t seed for a few days it’s fine, it’ll resume counting how long you’ve seeded for once you turn the pc back on.

As for ratio, just download the freeleech torrents until you have enough upload to spare. Most large torrents are freeleech (think 30GB+). As long as you’re cautious with ratio when you’re starting out, it’ll be fine.

Every private tracker I’ve joined has had similar seeding requirements. Some are as little as 3 days seeding within the first week or so. With a seedbox you’ll be able to seed even when your PC is shut off. For the rest of us, we have our servers running 24/7 to seed from home.

I don’t know where you live, but you might look into some low power PC like a Raspberry Pi or Dell micro PC and seed from that since they only consume 5-10 watts of power.

Honestly you can probably find 90% of what you’re looking for on public trackers. Private trackers just offer a better selection, better speeds, and sometimes more niche content but they’re not a requirement. I lived off public trackers for a decade and rarely had issues finding stuff.

Also know that torrentleech has user groups so as you get better stats on the site your minimum seeding time decreases.

TL is pretty lenient. You’re more likely to hit 10 days seeding than actually hitting a 1 ratio. In fact, unless you’re seeding 24/7 you won’t get a lot uploads. But that’s normal. Your time spent seeding earns you points which you can use to give yourself more Downloads in GB or unlocking fun perks.

You can seed intermittently as well and even go days or weeks without having to seed. As long as you don’t rack up a lot of hit and runs in one go and maintaining a good ratio you’ll be fine. But definitely try to hit those seeding requirements.

They also give you a buffer so you’ll start off with a healthy ratio. And they also offer a massive amount of Freeleech torrents which don’t cut into your download ratio. So you can download those ‘for free’ and then seed those to earn uploads/points.

They have stats, how much you upload, download, how long etc. There are even achievements which earn you points too.

I would give them a go for sure. It’s not as strict as you think and they have a wiki with a FAQ which should cover any questions you have.

You can read their rules ahead of time, they have a Wiki that’s freely available without a login (just google for “torrentleech wiki”). The 10-day minimum duration doesn’t have to be consecutive. For example, on TL it would take you 50 hit-and-run torrents that you stopped seeding for 5 days to get a warning that can potentially affect your acount. It’s really not hard to steer clear of that.

so after reading the wiki and that phrase multiple times so I should have like 50 torrents that I stopped seeding without meeting the 1:1 or the 10 days requirement before receiving that warming and if I have like only 1 torrent and go in 3 month trip then open my qbittorrent again it will be seeding again and that hit and run reminder will be gone ok then I can work with this system lol sine most of what I download is already like above the 14Gb mark which I guess the freeleech torrent mard

      • about not downloading a torrent to 100% my question is I found a torrent for a whole season of some random tv show it is marked as freeleech thoratically speaking I can just download episode 1 through 5 for example and leave the others like uncheck the files will that count as me downloading a percentage of the torrent or the full 100% if it’s a percentage well that means the 10 days rule don’t count on me so I am required to seed to the 1:1 ratio in that instance right do they also track how much you downloaded in each torrent

If you download a partial torrent, it will never count as full 100%, which means the 10-day rule doesn’t apply. You would have to physically upload the amount that you downloaded for it to hit the 1:1 ratio. Which could be next to impossible to do. Unless you absolutely have no disk space or something, just download the full torrent, even if you only want a few episodes (especially when it’s freeleech).
