It looks like China overtook the US in 2017 for GDP PPP https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/PPPSH@WEO/CHN/USA?year=2017 Also I was wrong, it looks like the current numbers are China 19 trillion, US 15.5 trillion but I’m pretty sure I heard those original numbers somewhere recently
