She did say Israel will still be fully supported, which isn’t really just pussyfooting with a war criminal…it’s more enabling. I would also add fracking to the “evil” side as well. Don’t get me wrong, it is better than the alternative and the lesser of two evils, but still.

Regarding the fracking issue, what was she supposed to do there? Hillary Clinton said she was going to shut down coal mining and it was a major contributor to losing her the election as a whole. We didn’t need a repeat of that.

Tout creating clean energy jobs and training for them. We are continuing to repeat this and pass this transition off. Not addressing climate change will not gain a young voters. HRC was terribly unpopular to begin with.

I think Harris could have had a more nuanced answer than, “Fracking, fuck yeah!” But it’s a damn shame that, to win the electoral college you have to be all drill, baby drill.

Although that’s politics… “It’s great to be here in Chicken Fark, Arkansas! I know, in the past, I have been accused by my opponent of being opposed to chicken farking. But I’m here today to tell you that, if elected, I promise to fark more chickens than any president in history!”

            Still voting for Harris, obviously.

I think she panicked a little bit. She was asked the question, and thought, “Oh shit, this is what fucked Clinton,” and didn’t want to leave any doubt in WV residents’ minds that she was going to take their jobs away, so she gave a clear, no-bullshit answer.

Obviously yes, it would be preferable that the overwhelming opposition to fracking from most of the rest of the country was enough to offset one very small, backwards state’s fears, but that’s not the country we live in right now. Maybe in the future.

In other words, do what HRC did.

“We are going to train you for different jobs” does not inspire as much optimism as you seem to think.
