A drawing that he supposedly made:

I wonder if he actually drew this as a kid or he, as the manchild he is, just doodled this up to post on twitter. Don’t know which is worse.

This is kind of the issue with self-diagnosis. You get people like this who cynically use it to do stupid shit. It often comes across as insulting how they’ll list every stereotypical trait in exaggerated fashion.

I’ve heard some queer people try to “reclaim” the f-slur but that doesn’t seem to have really caught on.

I think this is a problem with the “cynically use” part more-so than the “self-diagnosis” part. I know you didn’t say all self-diagnosis was bad, but I wanted to share a bit about mine. My self-diagnosis helped me:

      • come to terms with using sensory aids in public
      • connect with other people who struggle with alexithymia
      • explain a lot of social alienation and confusion from my childhood
      • give my therapist better direction for tools to teach me

I would have been happy to get a formal diagnosis, but the only person who does adult autism diagnoses within a 2 hour drive of me charges $2k for the privilege and doesn’t accept insurance. All the resources around here are for autistic children. On one hand, I was happy that my son had so many resources. On the other, it makes me wish that I’d had this revelation a lot sooner.

I’ve heard some queer people try to “reclaim” the f-slur but that doesn’t seem to have really caught on.

Oslo’s own gay choir is actually named after a bilingual pun on the f-slur, Oslo fаgottkor"bassoon-choir" are so mainstream and uncontroversial that they’ve performed patriotic music with the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces.

I’ve also seen the slogan “These F####ts Kill Fascists” a few times, most famously there’s that picture of those TQILA people…

Edit: So apparently even the three-letter version of the slur is removed by Hexbear’s slur filter. That’s maybe not ideal. Apologies to anyone using a screenreader for any convenience caused by replacing a letter with a Cyrillic lookalike.
