Animism is something I don’t know about; but each to their own I suppose. I remember one girl saying it was tantamount to paganism but the reception she got suggested the room didn’t agree with her. “Paganism” carries a lot of political and theological baggage, particularly among Christian Evangelicals, such that calling something “pagan” can be seen as derogatory rather than explanatory.
