To me, the “Stop Doing Math” format, also one of my favorites.
There are very little instances of it, so it is also rare. It is also very difficult to get right.
In the few specimen I was able to find, I have noticed that not only it is the most “textual” of all, but also it takes intimate knowledge of a technical field to get right.
The original Stop Doing Math meme took an intricate field (Math) and ridiculed it to an insane degree:
Years of counting yet no real world use found for going higher than your fingers
It is really hard to find an instance of the meme that achieves such casual absurdism. The few instances available seem to rather push it, thus failing to reproduce the unforced, aggressive, stupidity of the original.
That said, there is ambiguity around which exact part of the text are part of the template, and which parts are up to the user. For instance, I believe that the part
“wanted to _________ anyway for a laugh”
is integral to the template, but some users omit/replace it.
There are also two variations:
Statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged / by evil wizards
The former is the original one, as IIRC the original is the “Stop Doing Math”
For me the only two successful instantiations of the meme format are
- Stop doing math
- Stop doing predictable interface naming
