How do people get home from the northern terminus? Is there a good not too expensive shuttle service from somewhere near the terminus to a major airport?

You can hitch left to Kanab, or hitch right to Page. Walk a mile left to the Buckskin Gulch trailhead where there will be dozens of cars to make it easier.
Anyway, from what I heard, Page, AZ has an airport which goes to phx
I went to Kanab and had a friend pick me up because I live in Utah, but I think some people went from Kanab to Las Vegas and caught a flight home from there.

Hitch to Page, AZ or Kanab, UT.
There’s a small airport in Page but not much public transit otherwise. You could catch a hitch out of town south to Flagstaff where there are more flight, train and bus options.
Kanab is close to Zion and there are shuttle options that will get you to St George, from where there are more shuttle options that will take you south to Vegas.

I was looking at shuttles from St George but there weren’t prices listed. I kind of wondered if it was if you have to ask you can’t afford it.

I finished the AZT with a group of 4. We called shuttles listed on the Arizona Trail Association website and found one that drove us to Page for $150. From there, two people flew out of the airport, one hitched down to Flagstaff, and I took a bus to Las Vegas with a company called National Park Express. It was a bit strange being dropped off on the Vegas strip carrying a full pack with snowshoes. They seem to mostly do long day trips from Vegas but accept reservations if there’s space on the bus. I think they also stop in Kanab. I had to wait an extra day in Page but used the time to tour upper and lower Antelope Canyon which were nice.

Thanks. Maybe the best option is to hitch to flagstaff and take Amtrak. The prices for planes are ridiculous. I thought it used to be cheap to fly between so cal and Las Vegas.
