      The prosecuting authorities are not equipped to pursue a person of actual means and political status. All these offices know how to do is prey on people without the ability to defend themselves. Even when Trump loses a case on all 34 charges, he gets to spend the next three months running for President without even worrying about sentencing.

      Compare that to the 90%+ of convicts who cannot afford to do more than accept a plea bargain before they’ve even been inside a courtroom.

      In this case, it looks more likely than that. The grand jury was setup to indict 18 of Trump’s cronies, and the jury outright said to the prosecutor that they wanted to indict Trump himself. The prosecutor pulled the brakes on that, and it appears that the reason is that they wanted to have a really, really tight case to go after Trump himself.

      Then one of Trump’s old lawyers who is among the indicted, Jenna Ellis, agreed to cooperate. Now it looks like the brake is being let off.

      Nothing of substance will happen before the election, but it’s likely to be yet another criminal case against Trump.
