Both Best Buy and official Playstation Amazon have PSVR2 $200 off. That’s $399 for the Horizon bundle and $349 for the base PSVR2 package. Pretty phenomenal deal, especially if you already have a PS5.
How good are these things for non-gaming stuff like watching movies in bed?
I have tried that on the Quest 3 for a bit and I don’t think anyone should get a headset for that, but I’m sure others disagree.
There’s definitely something there and it can be very magical, but it’s enough friction to be annoying over time and it’s uncomfortable enough (especially staring straight ahead) to make me want to switch to my phone or laptop instead.
I haven’t tried the PSVR2 in particular but i always watch everything i can in VR. I started collecting 3D blu-rays to watch in VR and i’ve been really enjoying it!
Can you run with PC only?
They have an adapter coming next month that will allow PC only use.
They are releasing a PC adapter Aug 7. No reviewers have shared the PC experience yet and some features won’t carry over, like eye tracking.
So theoretically yes with a bunch of caveats.
Hmm, I really want to like VR, but the Quest and Quest 2 just weren’t it. So I’m watching the market to see if we’re getting better.
