Using a misogynist slur in your reply doesn’t actually count as a defense against misogyny, big guy. Considering you’re the OP, I think you’ve proved my point tbh

It’s like a child confidently telling his parents he can say “ass” and “damn” because those are the names of playing cards in French.

Man I must have missed the news that Australian English has diverged enough to be reclassified as a mutually unintelligible language with english as spoken by everyone else.

That or your comparison to French is complete manure cheval.

Cunt is used very casually in places like australia, scotland etc. Its not like in america and is not meant in the same way.

The person in question is talking about a US political figure. This argument does not fly.

So when we talk about a politician in the united states we have to use american curse words? Do you want me to also censor the word fuck? Oh sorry, i mean the F-BOMB. People on Lemmy are from all over the world and the american circus is very well known worldwide. When we comment on an american political figure, we will still use the slang we always use. It is not meant in a misogynistic way. I promise.

nah, we all make fun of the men’s looks in the GOP just as much.

And really the only reason is because it’s conservatives the hold such weird beauty standards to begin with.

It’s more about pointing out their own hypocrisy than it is making fun of them

Yeah, this is counterproductive and plain lazy bullshit, as if there isn’t enough to legitimately criticise her for… 🙄

Can you explain how insinuating that someone is ugly = misogyny? I’d argue that you’re the one equating the relevancy of physical appearance to gender by labeling this as misogyny.
