Ya, that super would’ve helped. I agree that sometimes you don’t need to explain, but in this case it actually would’ve been a fantastic addition.

literally. It was so out of place and kinda forced without it. That line he quoted also felt really doctor who to me, I can’t believe he thought it was “boring” to make the story…work.

I really hope after this season he is done with “magical shit just happens”. It was fun for a season to let the Doctor play in another wheelhouse but it got stale quickly. The series at least pretending to be sci-fi is a part of its DNA.

For all the talk about mysticism, “Space Babies,” “Boom,” “Dot and Bubble,” and “Rogue” were all pretty standard episodes with the typical sci-fi-ish trappings. Even the Sutekh story didn’t really require extra story elements to work.

In the end, I think the “magic exists now” line is pretty overblown.

@ValueSubtracted “Why explain why you burst into song? Just burst into song! So I think that scene possibly would’ve made a lot of people happy. I’m really glad we took it out! It’s only 20 seconds of dialogue, it was nothing. I can’t think of anything else that we cut.”

Oh for fucks sake. Its literally like he’s drunk on power and has stopped giving a shit. This scene would have saved the episode for me. The dance sequence was the ONE part I couldn’t get over.

Okay, I didn’t actually care for the song-and-dance number…but this cut scene wouldn’t have helped.

I just didn’t like the song.
