This was something I loved about Apollo - after posts were marked as read (which you could mark as read if you scrolled past) the posts would be hidden when you refresh. Helped me keep my reading in order.

As a workaround.
Login to the web interface and uncheck ‘Show Read Posts’ in your settings.
You can change how posts are marked as read in the app.
