    under “Dark Energy” the caption reads, “theoretical form of energy… behaves the opposite of gravity”.

    then why does it not also list gravity as a basic component of the universe?

      Gravity is not the only basic component of the universe. What they are saying is that dark energy pushes things apart. It behaves in the opposite manner of the gravity we are familiar with.

        so if it doesnt behave like matter and just like an opposite force of gravity, why dont we call it a force?
