I’ve been reading Fanon and it’s striking how similar Israelis are to French soldiers in Algeria. Rape, torture, sadism, senseless murder, and then when they come home they need to be hospitalized by their own self-inflicted trauma and guilt. The colonial situation in Palestine is definitely different because of the apartheid system (notably it seems apartheid or universal conscription have successfully prevented any of Israel’s Jews from siding with Palestine in an active way), but it still bares many similarities.
