The same person who leaked the existence of Metroid Dread assures that a Spanish developer has received the development kit for the successor to Nintendo Switch.
Nooooo.
It was supposed to be “Super Switch”. 😔
They will go with the genius name of…
“The New Switch”
Switch+ U XL 64
New Super Switch U XL with new Funky Kong mode
With the advent of the Steam Deck and the Rog Ally this thing had better kick ass. I’m not purchasing another shitty device just to play Nintendo IPs.
Nintendo hasn’t competed on anything but Nintendo IP for years really.
and (couch-) coop
So it begins again. People have been saying a Switch 2 is coming for over 4 years now. I’m sure it will eventually, but I’m still not sure about the rumors.
It had better have some decent power behind it this time. I’d say PS4 Pro level performance is the bare minimum for me to purchase another one.
I doubt it will be that powerful. Not even the ROG Ally reaches the power level of a PS4 Pro.
I just hope they leverage the latest chip manufacturing nodes so that the Switch 2 feels like a substantial upgrade compared to its predecessor, which was already outdated the moment it released.
They won’t.
effectively apple has a monopoly on the lastest node at any given time.also, makes no sense for nintendos strategy, much cheaper to go one or two nodes behind the latest
I’d doubt it.
Especially if it gets marketed as a switch successor.I’d expect it to be powered by something like the snapdragon 8 gen 1 which has about 2.5Tflops on the gpu
ps4 pro had 4.2Tflops(even sd 8 gen 2 only had 3.5Tflops, and I doubt that will be chosen for cost reasons).
And you know what?
It’s fine.
Nintendo doesn’t care about highest fidelity, they much rather have you being flexible with it.
and consumers largely seem to agree with the concept
I love how expansive the handheld market has become. From the Switch to the Steam Deck , to the Ally. If the Switch can get at least to the Rog Ally in terms of specs (with an OLED), I’ll definitely consider it. I think the best would be if their dock for the TV can include a GPU like ASUS has to increase the performance while on TV.
It is going to be half of the price of the Rog Ally, and Nintendo does not sell at a loss, so I would not get your hopes up on it being more powerful only a year later.
An “unknown Spanish developer”. Maybe MercurySteam perhaps?
