Its because you cant screenshot things without the other person being notified and everyone posts their lives on there and its primarily young people. So the illusion of exclusivity/privacy + makes you feel young + parasocial relationships + micro content + pedos + drug dealers (who are dumb as fuck)
If they actually care about privacy, upgrade to signal. Owned by the CIA and all, but you’ll still be more secure than using Snapchat or any of the other disappearing message apps
Anyone with the tiniest bit of technical know how can probably defeat this.
Literally just taking a picture of your phone with another phone works lol
