This is not what I was promised with Gundam endings and I’m somewhat ok with it. But could really have gotten a few more episodes to tie up everything, felt rushed.

I think it could have used one more episode, but in many ways this was extremely in line with Gundam endings. Space bullshit, the ghosts of the past reach through time, love saves the world, the hero retires to a farm with their partner. Gundam has this rep for killing everyone, and yeah people get fucked up, but the general theme of the series is the transformative power of human connection. So most endings are either bittersweet or lean toward hope for a better world.

Yea the lack of any explicit action was a bit disappointing. I get the whole Data Storm Quiet Zero thing is meant to be this insane super weapon so it shouldn’t be surprising it has enough power to remotely disable the big freaking laser machine that’s a staple of the genre, but at the same time would’ve loved to see Caliburn et al absolutely shred that huge space laser to shreds (albeit that might run into the whole killing people thing).

Not sure how I feel about the ending. Oh well!
