Active and hot or even new comments as these currently stand become stale real quick, hopefully, there will be a new api for the devs to use.

I was just saying in another thread I feel like Hot is pretty decent compared to a couple of days ago.

Active I’m not too sold on, but yeah more options would be great.

Active shows me posts from 2-3 days ago. Fairly useless unless you only check Lemmy like once every few days or once a week.

Yea, give hot a go for a bit. Not everything is mega commented on after a while but hey……this ain’t Reddit, and OPs and lurkers appreciate it 🫡

Yeah active is pretty bad unless you just want to see the active posts from the last few days. Hot is pretty good primarily because of the explosion in users over the last little while.

Top 1 hour, 6 hours and 12 hours is available on programming.dev - really improves the experience for me

on a similar i’d love to see an option to set a preferred way of sorting comments

not sure if it’s been talked about before but i’m still so used to comments sorted by top

Yes there seem to be plenty of instances that have sort by top hour/6hour/12 hour/… /all time when you visit them directly through a browser but wefwef limits it in their interface (I’m sure not intentionally).

I’m used to using various top options from reddit a lot so this pushing me to other apps that have that functionality.

Overall wefwef is a one of the most impressive web based apps I’ve had the pleasure of using and will likely be back if some more customizable sorting becomes available.
