Most corporations are actively screwing up their consumers. What can we do to mitigate this issue?

We have seen it with reddit, twitter, docker hub, etc…

Once they lock their users their greed kicks in.

I’ve portainer to manage docker containers and it’s free for my use, however, do we have a strong alternative if some greedy billionaire/ceo decided to buy/destroy portainer and other massively adopted solutions?
