Back when I was a youth, nazis used to make it a point to show up where they knew they were not wanted. We actually used to punch nazis with regularity. They started this in the late 70s and by the late 90s were realizing they were outnumbered, and getting their asses kicked. In the situations where they did prevail, initially, was when they lurked about waiting for someone to walk out of a gay club, or a place in which they had gotten kicked the shit out of themselves, and when that person was isolated they would drive up and jump out of their truck and gang beat the person. They called it a boot party, because they would literally stomp the person into the concrete. If you had the misfortune of being a lesbian, that was targeted, you would be raped. However this was getting more, and more, police attention as society started to force the police to investigate crimes against people they saw as less than human.

So they mostly stopped shaving their heads, color coding their boot laces, and tattooing their affiliations/crimes on their bodies, and started shaving their faces, donning suites, and focused on coding their language. They consciously made the decision to move towards a professional appearance, value business acumen, and work on spreading their message in a way that was less offensive to new prospects. While they kept targeting sub-cultural groups for their largely white, disaffected, male populations, they focused on bigger targets. Online video games, with a focus on games like WOW. They embraced social media and worked to make themselves ever more savvy with the use of the internet, and their abilities in media, and public relations.

Are there still boot-boys out there, with their skin heads? Yes, there is still a group that they attract, and those people are valued because they are more likely to be willing to do crime and enact violence. However most of them now are the youtube alt-right.

But yes, kicking the shit out of nazis forces them out places they are not wanted. It worked so well they spent decades transforming the whole movement specifically to avoid as much in person contact with non-nazis as they could.
