We are Zone 5a in Canada, which is roughly Zone 4 USDA.

They aren’t all native, but we try to choose native plants when we buy new. We inherited many when we moved here.

We weed and I occasionally add fertilizer in the form of alfalfa meal. We haven’t quite figured out how to get our compost hot enough, but I hope to add some in the fall as well.

    Thank you! This will be our 4th summer living here and we’re finally feeling like the hard work is paying off.

    The house itself is a shit show, but 🤷‍♀️

      For me the house is part of the garden. And zoo. Just have to do the best with the space/time/ability that you have and eventually you’ll find a balance that works.
