I wonder if this is a regional difference in usage. It sounds so completely natural to me that I really struggled to understand your objection at first.
It’s called Jeering, you say yay when you cheer you say boo when you jeer.
Well there certainly wasn’t any yaying.
I was saying “boo-urns”.
I hate it.
In English, you can often just verb a noun, and the meaning is still clear.
All booing is jeering, but not all jeering is booing. ;)
