The only explanation I can come up with for Tofurkey is that it was a meat-industry false flag to bias the western public against a cheap, plentiful protein source before it got popular.
I’m almost serious, too.
Tofu doesn’t look like meat. But everything else I think is to appeal the meat eaters to their side, not because they want it to look like an animal.
And that was a bad decision. You want to sell fat Americans on tofu?
Cover it in barbecue sauce. It’s not that hard.
