Feel free to add regular snippets of knowledge. I’d be interested in knowing more about First Nations languages - and as I know next to nothing now anything you add is bound to be new to me!
I have my notes from Uni still so I can defo add some snippets :D Murrinpatha is a language spoken in Wadeye (pronounced wad-e-ah, kind of) in far north NT. Sadly, a lot of languages in Tassie and Vic were lost (settler colonialism and genocide --eyeroll–) but I know bits and pieces, and there’s some really great orgs that are reconstructing the languages. I’ll defo add some info about languages closer to home!
search the abc rn website for a snippet segment “Word Up” - introducing aboriginal words to a wider audience - one word at a time. Is broadcast at the end of Awaye on Saturday 6pm, Tuesday 9pm and Thursday 1am.
