Is this another example of the peri gift that keeps giving?

Not sure if I’m after advice or support or just having a rant or all of the above!

I live in a freestanding house that is driveway width from my neighbour’s house. I can smell cigarette smoke wafting into my house frequently (at least 10x a day) throughout the day and night even when all my doors and windows are closed.

I’ve had smoking neighbours before but have never noticed the smoke. Could it just be that this neighbour smokes a particularly pungent brand or am I now super sensitive to it?

I know I’m going to have to find a way to deal with this, like sealing windows and doors, maybe getting some fans. But I’m still trying to get on top of the mess from a couple of years of debilitating symptoms and this is just one more farking thing.

It sounds like it may be a combination of heavy smokers and sensitivity. If you want you can make a real cheap air filter for your house. Get a 60 inch floor box fan, a 20x20x1 filter and Bungie cord the filter to the fan. Make sure you get a carbon charcoal filter. The charcoal will neutralize the smoke smell. I use this set up in my house for my pets and it works like a charm.

Ugh, that’s awful. I was unhappy to discover our nextdoor neighbour got a new roommate who smokes. We share a main floor balcony. Very pleased so far because he actually walks out to the parking lot to distance himself from our building. I’m amazed that I’m not more bothered by it.

My issue is sound. The crinkling of food wrappers and crunching of chips, crackers makes me lose my mind. It suuuuucks.
