I adjusted this message when I spoke at my sisters celebration of life. She was a musician her whole life and taught music to underprivileged children in England and Ireland. I spoke of how the music she taught those kids will always be part of their lives, how every piece she played would be in the minds of all who heard it for as long as they remembered. She would never be gone as long as we remembered her.
When my father died, I told my daughter that a part of him would always be around as long as we remembered him. I think it’s a great way to think of someone still being a part of your life after they’re gone with nothing supernatural involved.
