I’m moving from ChromeOS to Manjaro. I want to put the Task Manager on the right edge of the screen, but don’t see how to do this. I’m pretty sure this was possible a long time ago.

Running KDE Plasma 5.27.11 and Wayland.

First of all, Manjaro is still on 5.27??? How is that a “rolling release” distro?

Second, right click on the panel (task manager) then just drag it to any side you want.

Rolling release doesn’t necessarily mean bang up to date although in practice most rolling release distros are.

Is this a definition created by the Manjaro devs? Because rolling release means a rolling release. There is no other way around it.

But they don’t have to roll on the bleeding edge. Look at openSUSE Slowroll for an example of a distro that rolls behind the curve.

Yeah but it rolls. I don’t use it but I would guess they’re waiting for 6.1 before updating.

If you want to be more up to date, switch to the unstable branch which mirrors the Arch repositories. It will also solve one of the biggest problems with Manjaro, the potential imcompatibility with the AUR.

Yeah, I’ve been on Plasma 6 with my Manjaro Unstable desktop. Not a terrible experience and I’ve yet to encounter an AUR package giving me problems, aside from outdated ones. Honestly, I’ve given Endeavour OS a try on my laptop and will be switching it back to Manjaro when I find the time. It’s a fine distro, but it feels like it tries to give you an excuse to “bust out the terminal” once in a while… Which isn’t my thing anymore.
