Drake just released a 7 minute banger but I really cannot wait for Kendrick’s response holy shit Drake is gonna get fucking bodied so hard

https://youtu.be/ZkXG3ZrXlbc?si=VW9q0asclqF9t7w6 Drake’s response cw: mentions of domestic violence

I think crushing the GKMC truck is kinda corny and too on the nose, but props to Drake for putting out a response so quickly, this is probably the hardest I’ve ever heard Drake go honestly who knows if it was ghost written or AI but it’s genuinely impressive coming from him. Drake also claims Kendrick abused his wife? This isn’t good, but he needs to show receipts because he could just be talking shit, the same way he claims one of his kids is someone else’s which, who cares but he’s releasing really sensitive info which may or may not hold weight. Kendrick’s response will be so fucking powerful after these claims though, he already dropped two perfect diss tracks, the second he released today which was pulling his punches, but after this it’s straight up warfare

Edit: Kendrick responded an hour later I need time to process this response

        cw possible child abuse, pedophilia

There are some young actresses, models, and entertainers that he met while they were underage and may have dated right as they turned 18. Truth is that it is a little hard to find concrete evidence, the one I thought was 100% legit was Bella Harris who he had allegedly taken to a date and rented out the entire restaurant; but apparently that was a fabrication and she denied even being in the same city at the time. Similar situation with Millie Bobby Brown who’s one of the most high profile women he met while she was underage: lots of people think he dated her as soon as she hit 18, and a lot of their interactions are similar to what you’d expect from a groomer, but she has described him as just a mentor who never stepped over any inappropriate boundaries. Always hard to say because victims of grooming are unlikely to realize they’re being groomed. He’s overall just a very creepy guy who doesn’t have enough hard evidence against him to definitively sink him.

He groped a 17 year old on stage when he was in his early 20s. He then asked her for her age, which she said 17, and then he continued groping her and making sexual comments. He knew it was scandalous because he said something like “damn but I like the way your breasts feel though”

He also “became friends” with Millie Bobby Brown when she was underage. The two claim they’re only friends and MBB says that he gave her valuable advice lol.

Drake’s bodyguard, Baka Not Nice, is notably one of the few publicly visible OVO member who may have any potential of real violence. He’s a convicted human trafficker with a history of armed assault and robberies.

Drake also named his mansion The Embassy. You know, the building where employees are immune to punishment for crimes.

Listening to Meet the Grahams was stomach churning. It legitimately felt like watching a horror movie, the stuff revealed about Drake in that song should get him thrown into a wood chipper if true. Also, I might be wrong but from what I understood the only source on the Kendrick DV allegations was one post on a random person’s blog from like 2014

People talking about this like the main source of dirt is what a rapper will choose to reveal on a track

Like omg they’re so clairvoyant, they got powers of discovery that we regular mortals lack

No one believe this. What the hell are you even on about? Kendrick literally says that people in Drake’s crew is leaking things to him, and Drake has offered hundreds of thousands of dollars to get information on Pusha T in the past and I’m assuming now with Kendrick.

That’s the entire point of a confrontation lol. You don’t escalate to something extreme out the blue nor do you reveal all your cards before knowing more information. This is leverage 101 lol. Biggie and Tupac was kayfabe - both pretended to be gangsters but were not about that life, yet they didn’t really call each other out for it - and they still got killed as a result

The Biggie and Tupac beef was Pac calling Biggie fat and Biggie saying he fucked Pac’s wife lol.

You can argue that Kanye and Taylor Swift’s beef was originally organic but became drawn out and artificial throughout the decade, but this is beyond musical abilities and sales at this point. You don’t call another man a pedophile sex trafficker or abuser because some manager told you so.

Is it beneficial? Yes. But this is happening during R Kelly and Diddy’s trials. I can’t imagine their labels are thrilled about this information getting out even if they’re making bank because they’re at risk of having to drop them if the allegations prove to be true. But they’re also stuck in a conundrum because they can’t tell the two to stop and make up because that’ll ruin their images and sales as well.

Yeah all Drake has is commerical success. Which no one who takes music seriously cares about in determining the quality of someone’s work. Many mediocre artists are commercially successful. Taylor Swift is the most commercially successful artist right now, despite her latest album having some pretty horrific lyrics. Beyoncé is commercially successful because she has a whole team behind her to engineer her music, like most pop stars. Drake is the most commercially successful rapper even though most of his shit sounds like fake tough guy poser talk and is very clearly ghostwritten.

No one really cares about that. Abbey Road by the Beatles is remembered as one of the best albums ever made, even though it did not win the Grammy that year. No one alive today is going to say that whatever album that won the Grammy in 1970 is better than Abbey Road.

The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as “the greatest or most significant or most influential” rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all time are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all time. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics, instead, are still blinded by commercial success. The Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers.

Drake never claimed his music is superior though. He only bragged about his wealth and consistent drops. Kendrick really only bragged about his music compared to J Cole. Kendrick’s beef against Drake is against him as a human being, not his music. He also has a problem against Drake’s artistry because he believes he disrespects black culture for profit.

It’s weird that people keep talking about musical quality because it shows they’re not paying attention to what’s going on. It’s only about music between select individuals in the beef (e.g. Metro and Drake, Kendrick and Cole, Kanye and Drake, Drake and Ross)

That being said I find Kendrick’s disses to be boring or straight terrible, musically. He needs to switch up his style

has there been a single second in drake’s career where he has been anything other than a laughing stock?

This is such a bizarre out of touch comment lol. He’s a sleazy pedophile who steals from other artists, but that really doesn’t matter because he is consistently in the top charts with millions of fans and hundred million dollar contracts. He’s a laughing stock with his lyrics, sure, but you’re acting like his image is a universal one

Kendrick believes he’s above every rapper, and has thought so for like a decade now. Overall, it was just tame, vague hits at the industry

Then J Cole was featured on a Drake song in which he called all three of them the best rappers.

This claim offended Kendrick because he thinks that they’re beneath him, but particularly Drake because he doesn’t respect him as an artist or person. Cole’s line was what ignited this into a more direct beef

Cole initially responded with a song saying he’s got shooters and will take this further if necessary, and then apologized because it made him like a goofy and stepped out. So now it’s just Kendrick and Drake and the other people against Drake. I wouldn’t even say most of them are Kendrick’s side because he hasn’t defended any of them besides Pharrell
