And Prigohzin is responsible for some of the bloodiest fights in Ukraine.
Yeah, he’s a horrible, evil war criminal. Yet, at the same time, his coup succeeding seems the best thing for Ukraine, since he seems to have no desire to continue the war in Ukraine.
I wouldn’t be so sure about that. He’s previously indicated he wants to escalate the war. Introduce martial law, more waves of conscription, etc. Go full North Korea.
There’s a lot of Russians who are critical of the Kremlin, but still pro-war.
If anything they feel the Kremlin is too soft.

Prigozhin said that he feels that the military leadership must be replaced because they are not willing to make the decisions needed to win the war. Particularly, he advocates for the use of tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
The short-term chaos may be appealing, but Prigozhin assuming any additional power beyond “dog on a leash” is a terrifying notion.
If not succeed then last long enough to provide an opening in Ukraine?
The best outcome for Ukraine is probably a costly fight between Wagner and the Russian AF that results in significant forces having to be pulled out of Ukraine to win. Who ultimately wins that fight probably doesn’t matter that much
