Does anyone have experience with a handheld 3d scanner under ~$1000 that isn’t garbage or effectively e-waste that they would recommend?

This website has a lot of information and topics about 3D printing. The article in particular is on 3D scanners. It breaks down a lot of options by several factors including cost. Unfortunately, I don’t have a 3D scanner yet so I cannot recommend anything based on my personal experience.
In Thomas Salanderer’s latest video his sponsor sells something that claims to fit your needs. I’d never heard of it and have no experience.
