I haven’t watched Louis’ video on this (yet) but heard it discussed on TLE.
The authorities really think the users confessing to using the software is evidence… but that confession is really no different to me saying “I use Firefox instead of Chrome”?
If the users get punished just for using these tools, and there’s no evidence of any real crime committed, this would set a really bad precedent…
by simply using these everyday tools you are already suspicious because they can`t see what are you doing. signal wont hide who you talk to, but what are you saying. why would you hide they ask. - why do you want to see it?
