I’m not complaining, just curious, what is the point of having Sync for Lemmy on both lemmy.world and lemmy.ml? I read the Sidebar, and understand that the one on lemmy.world is the Official Community of Sync, so why have this one? Will both be monitored? When the app is finished, and users need to post bug reports and other issues, can you post to either one, or should you just post on lemmy.world?
Even though he’s a dev, he may have had some of the same migration pains/learning curve moments many have had, leading to a bit of duplication. It may also allow for some failsafe peace of mind in these early days.
Probably best to just stick to world unless something happens. If I’m right, a pinned msg probably would be good to post though, for new comers.
I have a stupid question. If I visit lemmy.world, I am not signed in anymore and I cannot participate. What do I do?
edit: It was indeed a stupid question. I must visit https://vlemmy.net/c/syncforlemmy@lemmy.world, not https://lemmy.world/c/syncforlemmy.
Also new here, I believe the best way to link communities from across different instances is like this: !syncforlemmy@lemmy.world , (!
communityname
@instance.url
) this should let anyone from any instance view the community from their home instance (and stay signed in)🙂👍
Yeah, that could be true. There’s definitely a learning curve on Lemmy. Also, since beehaw.org defederated from lemmy.world, I guess they would not even be able to see the official community in lemmy.world, so I guess it would be good for those users to have Sync on lemmy.ml.
Those traitors don’t deserve Sync! (jk 😜, everyone deserves Sync, it’s the best.)
Might just want to make sure it’s setup given it’s still early days, but I’d imagine they can just be subscribed to both so either would work.
