      Yeah but if they just go and pay her rent, how will the private prison companies earn their occupancy quota bonuses from the taxpayers?! They’re supposed to keep them 90% full or more, you know.

      Ok that would be good for the budget, but what would that say about us as human beings? That we have the right not to get kicked off our home by some asshole landlord? What a disturbing idea, the system would collapse.

        For profit prisons. They essentially launder tax payer money to these places that give kickbacks in the form of campaign donations.

      Yeah, but they don’t have to do it well, because now she’s not a disabled old lady, she’s a degenerative criminal who barely deserves a concrete bed and gruel.

      At least, that’s my understanding of how the prison system works. No such thing as rehabilitation and building people up in the US penitentiary, just breaking people down until they’re nothing.
