P9s has 2 main strats for lc1 and it looks like jp strat is taking over pf (at least on European servers).

Which do you prefer?

jp is the only one my brain can easily and consistently understand, though I’m sure I could learn another strat given enough time. Once you learn and practice it it’s fairly consistent. I feel like it’s less thinking too, no need to worry about rotation, just straight lines.

The meme on NA is that JP seems more popular because the OPPO parties clear fast.

I’m comfy with both and think that people should pick whatever makes sense but I think there are a lot of merits to the lack of movement of JP.

I end up in oppo parties more and people clip the fires and forget their directions a lot haha

I’ve heard that meme over on EU as well!

I’m more in favor for jp these days though. I find the running around with oppo leaves people disoriented even if no one dies.

That confusion then bleeds into the next mechanics.

I think oppo is safer because JP really needs the 6 marker to be on top of the ball (or do non-standard positioning, which is actually what I would recommend).

JP seems hard when you are learning it because of the tight timing on 2/6 fire. Once you learn what LC1 is doing and have fully processed the responsibility of each role, though, it’s the easiest.

You can make JP LC1 much more reliable by positioning a step closer to middle before crossing over if you are 2/6 fire. And also by reacting quickly and knowing where you are going in advance. Also sprint, obviously.

My group started with Krile and we had to switch because it was just way too much variance. JP was picked up in like an hour. Haven’t tried Oppo but I believe it has the same Def movement as Krile which we found had a lot of failure conditions if someone gets a bad read at the beginning.

Oppo for sure. It’s the same movement repeated 4x, much simpler. In JP the timing for #6 bait is tight and constantly causes issues. There are slight modifications that can be made to fix that, but then that’s another thing people have to remember so it just makes it worse again. Oppo is the way.

In theory I don’t care which strat is used, but on pf I’m starting to understand why jp is taking over - at least on EU servers.

The biggest problem with oppo on pf is how people get disoriented, I think. Not only are there more moving parts, but at the end of the mechanic and for the rest of the fight, it feels like your average pf is much less confident in their positions.

My static does JP.I never really bothered learning Oppo Seems easier because there’s a lot less movement in between kicks, mostly standing around. Only thing with JP is the 6 maker needs to be ready to book it to the other side and 3rd defam needs to remember to stay.

I prefer Oppo. Stand on one of two spots, run in a circle. Resolve a mechanic if you need to. I hate getting third defamation or fire punch during JP.

I can understand hating being the third fire punch, but third defamation? You just take a few steps back while everyone else runs away from you.
