Decided I’m going to go ahead with my Kbin mobile app. Yeah I know i have a lot on the go, but I use Apollo daily, and want a solid Apollo like experience for Kbin. I’m willing to hand over the project to Kbin if they want, and would love to work closely with the developer on this if possible. Will be starting this next week, after my camping trip! It will be open source from the start, and contributors will be gladly welcomed! #kbin
This is wonderful news! Hopefully with the kbin api improvements we could be using a high quality mobile app maybe even this summer? Maybe in the fall?
Wow seems very promising. I visited pixelfed the other day. I love the design. I have faith and trust that this will be the app I use for kbin.
Afaik, PixelFed doesn’t have a mobile app either, but their PWA works wonderfully. The performance is so good I forgot I wasn’t using a real app.
Edit: Welp, turns out I’m outdated. While PixelFed doesn’t have an official app themselves, they do have one in development (beta), and there are various third party apps for it. Thank you for letting me know!
Pixelfed does have an ios/android app but it’s currently in beta. It should be out of beta within a month i think. I’ve used it and it’s a pretty decent app.
Pixelfed has multiple mobile apps. See - https://pixelfed.org/mobile-apps
I use tusky for mastodon and pixelfed on android and it works great!
They actually do now have a mobile app. Your information is outdated

I think for these apps to have that same native feel, they need to be written for the OS and not through a proxy like flutter.
Massive indeed, dansup is super-competent. I love the way this is all going.
Can’t think of a better person to build one. Pixelfed is beautiful.
Give Daniel’s excellent work on PixelFed, I have no doubt his kbin app will be great, as well. (Though a large part of me really wishes someone could convince Christian to rework Apollo to work with kbin/lemmy.)
I don’t know who that is, but Supernault is a wicked family name!
as the very title says - creator of Pixelfed. it’s Fediverse’s reply to Instagram.
Awesome!!
This is his fediverse profile as seen from kbin: https://kbin.social/u/@dansup@mastodon.social
In case other people want to also follow him from here (I just did!).Kbin getting better by the day. Great news!
Is there a way to see that mastodon post directly on kbin? I’m having trouble navigating to it.
You can navigate to the account kbin.social/u/@account@server and then navigate to the posts section of the account.
So currently I am using kbin mostly as a PWA on my phone and it takes away the navigation part of the browser. But this is good to know for future reference, thank you!
Try this also, try searching for “dansup” (his username) in search and his posts should show up. You can then click on “expand” to see the full thread with comments within kbin.
Amazing news, all the interest on kbin is honestly amazing
Woot!
