Years ago when I had an iPhone I used Darksky, then used it in Android when I switched too, until Apple bought it.
I’ve seen answers around on other sites, but wondering what apps people use?
Would love to see a similar functionality available on Android 14 someday.
I use Google’s weather app, like checking out what the frog is doing. I have the same setup on my Nest Max
I just use the built-in weather information by tapping on the temperature on my home screen on my Pixel.
I use weawow. Lots of options for where to source the data and the widget options are great.
Always open to try new things, though.
Seconding weawow. It’s been my preferred weather app for years.
Recommend this as well. Using the foreca as weather provider has been quite accurate.
For a quick glance the Google weather widget is also decent.
I use the AccuWeather app, works great
Today Weather has been pretty good for me. I also paid for it awhile ago. What I like about it is that I set it to AccuWeather as the Data Source so it’s pretty much the same info I would get if I ask Google Home what the weather is. Although there are a few other Data Sources available of course, I just like it to be fairly consistent across my devices either by voice or through the app.
Also the radar function in it works quite nicely as well.
I’ve also played around with WeaWoo weather and it’s great. But I just find myself coming back to Today Weather every time.
Second for Today Weather, but I also use Google Weather as an app.
I have Pluvia Weather, & Just weather, both Foss I believe, available on the Playstore…
Shadow weather for forecast, flowx for radar. I wish weather timeline wasn’t shutdown.
I really like Weather Today (don’t confuse with Today Weather). The UI is clean AF, at least if you like Material You.
Carrot
I just use weather.gov in a browser. Any “up to the minute” needs generally involve being outside anyways, so I can you know, just look up. Not too many “unpredictable” weather events in my neck of the woods, so I’ve really never needed more than that.
omWeather
I use a shortcut to yr.no, they’ve been the best for my area for years. Weirdly enough, as I don’t even live in Norway.
Geometric Weather – great ui, tons of nerd data, and a nice widget. https://f-droid.org/en/packages/wangdaye.com.geometricweather/
Google weather to see the frog
