James reviews the latest iteration of the AeroPress. Also discusses the future of the product now that the original inventor has sold it to a new company who are planning on an XL version and a high-end glass and metal version.
summary seems to be that it’s not worth upgrading and aeropress inc are going for price hikes while eliminating handy elements (e.g. the funnel and filter holder are deleted from the latest model)
Thankfully my existing aeropress is just as functional as the day I got it. Thought if I ever do break/lose it, I will definitely get the clear as it is significantly better looking.
I have two, my oldest I guess was made with plastic that may contain BPA? Later one (cloudy plastic) supposedly does not. But no reason to upgrade either. They look beat to hell after a few hundred uses anyway.
