The subreddit has weeks where all non-esports news is drowned out by dozens of threads discussing individual matches.

I know from discussions that there are also many Redditors who hate anything esports related and would prefer a cleaner subreddit, and I’ll assume that can be extrapolated to Lemmy.

What should be a good compromise? Is a weekly pinned esports megathread useful? Do you prefer to have all the match discussion posts so there is at least some activity?

I don’t think Lemmy supports polls yet, so let me know in the comments what you think.

The eSports side basically keeps the subreddit (on Reddit) alive. Looking at the subreddit now there’s a bunch of eSports related stuff, patch notes, and subpar fluff/whining.

The League subreddit seems to have better content than pretty much any other game sub, which just gets drowned out by clips of someone’s play. I think we’d do well to largely copy what they’re doing here.

Hopefully we just get more people posting content and the PMTs scroll off during the week. If the content isn’t fresh enough, people won’t come here anyway. I think the PMTs drive that in the right direction. I will grant that the PMTs are all about the comments, and we don’t have much of that yet. It’s definitely an “if you build it” and hope they come type of thing. But I think that’s the case either way here.

Personally I only plan to post NA and international content. But even so, more posters wouldn’t be a bad thing. I say let’s make this feed scroll.
