I have submitted an Android build to the Play store and am pending approval on the open test track. Once I get something back I will sticky the link to this community.

I’ve been subscribed here for a week or so, so as an android user, this is a nice surprise… I’ve been following the iOS development, just out of interest, had no idea an Android app was coming…Look forward to trying it out, Thanks 👍🏼
I’ll admit ahead of time that Android was not the first priority in terms of design. However, especially seeing that Sync should be coming to Lemmy, I hope this can at a minimum serve as a segue for the influx of users, especially with the upcoming API turn off on the 30th.
That said, going forward things will be geared toward both OSes and I’ll try my best to keep things android friendly for you guys.
What you are doing, can only make things easier for those heading over, to make the transition…I joined here before the API issues over there, so its been quite incredible how its all come alive…as it was pretty quiet before…Long may it continue… Thanks again for including us Androidees, will be following more closely going forward👍🏼. Hopefully the playstore peeps, pull there fingers out & get your app approved fairly speedily🤞🏻
From my experience Google is actually a tad bit slower than Apple, but not too slow. I’d anticipate a response either today or tomorrow.
I’m also not sure how pushing test releases goes with them. Apple doesn’t review subsequent builds under the same version number, so I can rapidly push features and fixes there. Hopefully Google does the same. Thanks for your support!

FYI won’t be on the store yet, I submitted as an open test (in hopes that the builds don’t take time to approve). A store build would ideally come before the 30th, but for the Android version I am not sure. While a lot of things right now look great with iOS, it will require a bit more tweaking with Android. Regardless, it shouldn’t be too much longer than the 30th.

Thanks, it is nice that there will be multiple Android clients, too. Jerboa is ok, but having a choice is always good. Will you make it available via alternative stores, such as f-droid?
