With that i mean should specific software be promoted and talked about here? Are news allowed? Are questions to specific Software allowed? Is everything regarding FOSS allowed? Those questions likely sound dumb, but for me it would help.

    Hello, few examples, is this place for software like:

    • XnView - freeware for non-commercial use only
    • FreeCommander - freeware also for commercial use, not open source, 32-bit version is free, 64-bit version is for donors only, 99% features are in the free 32-bit version

    What about a list of our favorite free software, with the links and short description, is it OK to post such a list? In specific topic, or own topic/post?

    Its actually a work in progress. I’m mostly trying to create a place to promote free software and all its aspects. That includes things like asking for software alternatives, posting free software releases, and discussing current events related to free software.

    This community is pretty new though so you can post almost anything as long as it relates to free software. (Please don’t ask for proprietary software recommendations)
