All hidden variables are changeable at the GM’s whim, per documentation, and yet the checks and balances in place at traditional TTRPG tables (player dissatisfaction, discussion, etc.) are massively blown out of proportion in MMOs — making what, in the former, would be the minimum of a single player’s voice of contention calling the GM’s machinations into question, here in the latter instead require a far larger number of players of similar mind to even be taken seriously, let alone heard above the din of the marketing hype machine and jimmy-tickled fan squeals.

You do you, but I have no interest in playing a reskinned pachinko with some random “expert” behind the board moving the pegs and pretending that alone “tells a story”.
