To think about it, I don’t have any. We all need some comfort, so please share!

Heartstopper is my number one. It has this gentle, joyous undercurrent to every element of itself that just checks all my boxes. The soundscape is really quite soothing as well.

Schitt’s Creek is a close second. Don’t be put off by the title as I was - it’s hilarious and takes a lot of care with its characters and storytelling. It’s not an explicitly queer show, but I’m including it here anyway because it centers a pansexual man as one of its core characters and does a fantastic job with his portrayal and storylines.

    Also in my rotation:

    • Drag Race
    • The Owl House
    • She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

Bedrooms and Hallways. I haven’t seen it recently, but I loved it when I saw it over twenty years ago. I hope it has aged well.

Clearly, I need more, so planning to check out some of these suggestions from others. I had forgotten about that touching moment near the end of The Haunting of Bly Manor @cornballdefense mentioned, so I say that counts too.

I realize that it’s lightly horror, but The Haunting of Bly Manor. There’s this moment towards the end, when two characters are just relaxing together reading separate books with their legs tangled and that is probably my favorite depiction of what real, kind and gentle love is. Happily existing together and the peace that comes with it.

    old school mix:

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
    Auntie Mame
    The Ritz

There are many others from back in the day, but some are less comforting than illuminating, of where we were, from within & without.
